Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Brawley Residents Directory receives, how that information is used, and what choices are available. The reference does not require an account and does not host Imperial County or California records. Search boxes may send what a visitor enters to the third-party provider that powers the results.

Information You Submit

A name, telephone number, or address typed into a search form is sent to the third-party service that supplies that result. Brawley Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search terms on its own servers. A message sent to the contact address contains whatever details the sender chooses to include and is used to answer that message.

Automatic Technical Logs

Hosting systems may record ordinary technical details such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring page, and timestamps. These logs can be reviewed in aggregate to maintain the service and understand general page use. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may rely on cookies or similar tools where those tools are enabled.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to operate the reference, diagnose errors, measure broad traffic, and improve the pages. Visitor lists are not sold, and the reference does not intentionally build a personal profile for an individual visitor.

External Record Portals

The pages link to Imperial County offices, Brawley departments, California portals, the National Archives, library resources, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves for one of those services, that provider’s privacy policy and data practices apply. Sponsored result tools are operated by third parties and are not controlled by Brawley Residents Directory.

Who May Receive Technical Data

Hosting and support vendors may process server logs to keep the pages available. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. Otherwise, the reference does not disclose a visitor’s submitted message as a separate data product.

Security and Retention

The service uses an encrypted connection where available, and technical logs are kept only for the operational purposes that require them. There are no visitor accounts on the reference, so it does not maintain a password or user profile for a visitor to expose.

Visitors Under 18

The material is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Brawley Residents Directory does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent personal information, the contact address may be used to request removal of that information from the mailbox or logs within the reference’s control.

California Privacy Choices

Depending on the person and the applicable exemption, California’s Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, provides rights to know, delete, correct, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and opt out of sale or sharing. The principal statute is Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq.; the California Privacy Protection Agency and Attorney General publish current guidance. California’s Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, or DROP, can send a deletion request to registered data brokers. The California Privacy Protection Agency maintains the state privacy and broker guidance. DROP does not erase Imperial County deeds, court records, assessment rolls, voter records, or other government records.

Because this reference keeps very little personal information, a request is generally limited to a search of the contact mailbox and relevant operational logs. Use the Contact page to make a request. A request to remove a Brawley or California government record must go to the custodian that holds it, under that record’s statute and procedure.

Changes to This Policy

When the practices or legal disclosures change, an updated policy will be posted here with a new effective version. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy to the extent the law permits.
